St Matthew’s Church is one of the most popular churches for getting married in the Portsmouth Diocese. The majestic architecture, long aisle, grand organ, bells, and sense of peace as one walks through the door all contribute to its popularity. Add to this the church’s location in beautiful, rural countryside and you can see why couples choose it for one of the most special occasions in their lives.

St Matthew’s has witnessed horse drawn carriages, camper vans and shiny classic cars arriving with radiant brides, grooms looking immaculate in top hats, silk ties of various colours, bantering with their best men or best ladies or their fathers. Rings have arrived on Bibles, by owl or carried by grinning page boys. But for all of them - that moment when a couple say the timeless and reverent words of their vows and the presence of God is felt especially keenly is the most breath taking and beautiful and one which will never be forgotten.
