Christmas services and events
at St Matthew's Church
2020

For Christmas 2020, we have had to tone things down somewhat.
We are hoping that the following events will be able to go ahead as planned, but please do get in touch if you'd like to check or know more.
St Matthew's Church can accommodate around 60 people with social distancing measures in place. Therefore the Christingle Service and Christmas morning service will require booking in advance. If demand is great, additional services will be added, so please do check back with us.

Christmas Tree Festival
From 13th December
Come and visit the church and see a variety of trees, each decorated by a local group.
The church will be open on Wednesday afternoons from 2-4pm and Sunday afternoons from 3-5pm for private prayer amongst the Christmas trees.

Carols by lantern - in the churchyard
Sunday 20th December at 5pm
There will be a socially distanced service OUTSIDE in the churchyard.
Please wear warm clothing and bring a lantern or torch, and a chair if you need one.
You are welcome to stay in your car with the windows open to enjoy the carols if you prefer.
Mince pies and mulled wine will be served.

Christingle Service
24th December at 2pm
Christingle service for children.
A collection will be taken at this service, and donated to The Children's Society.

Family Christmas Communion
25th December at 10am
Family service for Christmas morning, with Holy Communion.
Behold I bring you tidings of great joy
Luke 2.10
